The Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), University of Ibadan chapter, are set to hold a congress on Monday, May 4, 2026.
This was disclosed by the NASU-UI Chairman, Comrade Femi Ogunlade, while speaking with IndyPress on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
According to the NASU-UI Chairman, the general meeting is scheduled to commence by 8AM at the University’s main gate.
Recall that the National Joint Action Congress of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities has embarked on a nationwide strike that commenced on Saturday, May 1, 2026, following failed negotiations between the Federal Government and the unions.
Speaking on the effect of the ongoing strike on UI, he noted that the strike will affect all activities on campus and it impact will be felt by everyone.
“It will affect everything andA everyone on campus,” he said.
