The University of Ibadan Health Service (UHS), popularly known as Jaja Clinic, has directed students to seek medical care at alternative facilities following the shutdown of its operations amid the ongoing nationwide strike by SSANU and NASU.

This was disclosed in a notice issued by the clinic management on Monday, May 4, 2026.

According to the notice, medical and administrative services at the UHS have been suspended in compliance with the indefinite strike action, which commenced on May 1.

Students enrolled at the clinic have been advised to access healthcare services at designated alternative facilities, including the Police Clinic, Eleyele; Military Hospital, Odogbo Barracks, Ojoo; Jubilee Hospital, Sango; and Ayoola Modupe Memorial Hospital, located on Adenuga Street in the Kogi area of Ibadan.

Earlier, IndyPress gathered that the UHS was shut down by union leaders as part of efforts to enforce full compliance with the strike directive.

The Chairman of NASU, UI Chapter, Comrade Michael Ogunlade, alongside SSANU leadership, directed the closure of all offices and operations at the clinic.

The shutdown forms part of the broader industrial action by non-teaching staff unions, which has disrupted key services across the university.
