The University of Ibadan management has announced Wednesday, 27 May and Thursday, 28 May 2026, as public holidays in observance of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

This was disclosed in a notice signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr G. O. Saliu, on Monday, May 25, 2026.

“The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, 27 May and Thursday, 28 May 2026, as public holidays for the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir,” the notice reads.

The notice added that staff on essential duties are to continue their responsibilities as required, while normal work will resume on Friday, May 29, 2026.
