The Great Independence Hall Executive Council, under the leadership of Obinelo Chisom Folorunsho, has announced the commencement of a hall repainting project sponsored by the Great Independence Hall Alumni Association.
This was disclosed in a notice co-signed by the Administrator-General, Obinelo Chisom; the Secretary of State, Najimdeen Robiu Ayomide; and the Public Relations Officer, Sodiq Hammed Akinkumi, on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
“We are pleased to inform you that the painting of the Great Independence Hall, courtesy of the Great Independence Hall Alumni Association, will commence tomorrow,” the notice reads.
According to the notice, the first phase of the project is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 5, 2026 with Block D, popularly known as the Elders’ Block as the focus.
Student residents have also been advised to cooperate with officials overseeing the exercise.
“All Katangites are expected to cooperate with the designated officials, who will be officially tagged for identification,” the notice added.
