Unpaid UI IT Students Can Now Lodge Complaints to NANS

By Abdullah Oladejo

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has launched a new online portal to help students who have not received their Industrial Training Fund (ITF) SIWES allowance after completing their internships.

This was disclosed in a press statement released today, July 2, 2026, by NANS President, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez.

“Following the inauguration of the Industrial Training Fund SIWES and Intervention Projects Assessment, Verification, and Monitoring Committee, I am pleased to announce the launch of the NANS ITF SIWES Payment Compilation Portal for students who have completed their Industrial Training Scheme but are yet to receive their SIWES allowance,” Afeez said.

According to him, the initiative was introduced following conflicting reports about the payment status of eligible students.

He noted that despite claims that beneficiaries have been paid, many students still report that they are yet to be credited.

To address this issue, the NANS verification portal has been established to ascertain the true status of affairs and ensure that affected students receive the payments due to them. Students who have completed their industrial training but have not been paid are encouraged to submit their details through the portal at NANS ITF  Payment Compilation Portal

The NANS President further assured students that the association will continue to advocate for the timely payment of their entitlements.

“As your President, I remain committed to speaking for you, representing your interests, and relentlessly advocating for your welfare.” he added.
