Breaking: Missing UI Student, Other Regain Freedom

The University of Ibadan student who was reportedly abducted while returning from the Scripture Union Students’ Fellowship National Conference has regained her freedom alongside other occupants of the affected vehicle.

Recall that Tomisin, a 300-level Law student of the University of Ibadan, serves as the Vice President of the Scripture Union Campus Fellowship, UI Chapter, and the National Secretary of the Scripture Union Students’ Fellowship. She was among those whose vehicle lost contact while returning from the conference held in Okigwe, Imo State.

The incident sparked widespread concern within the University of Ibadan community after it was confirmed that she missed her faculty examinations, while the fellowship, security agencies, and other relevant authorities intensified efforts to determine the group’s whereabouts.

Information obtained by IndyPress confirms that the victims have now regained their freedom as of the earlier hour of Today, July 6, 2026.

Confirming the development to IndyPress, the President of the Scripture Union Campus Fellowship, UI Chapter, Olabisi Mayowa, said he received the information from the regional coordinator earlier on this morning.

As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the circumstances of their release is yet to be confirmed.
