Following an IndyPress report, the University of Ibadan management has commenced the NELFUND refund application process for students who benefited from the loan during the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions.
This was disclosed in a notice sent by the university management to the institutional email addresses of matriculated students.
According to the notice, affected students are required to apply for and claim their refunds within two weeks.
“This is to remind all students who benefited from the NELFUND loan in the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions, and who had fully or partially paid their school levies before the approval of their NELFUND loan, to apply for and claim their refunds within the next two (2) weeks, if they have not already done so.”
The notice further stated that students who are eligible for a refund but fail to submit their applications within the stipulated period will have their unclaimed loan balances returned to NELFUND.
It also noted that, beginning with the 2024/2025 academic session, all refund applications are to be submitted through the University of Ibadan NELFUND Loan Refund Application Portal.
The management added that the application schedule for the 2025/2026 academic session would be communicated later.
“The application timeline for eligible beneficiaries in the 2025/2026 Academic Session will be announced in due course.” it added.
