Google has officially launched its global back-to-school student promotion, offering a full year of its advanced artificial intelligence subscriptions at no cost to eligible college students.
The campaign was announced via the official Google Gemini X handle (@GeminiApp) on August 19, 2026.
The promotional rollout introduces updated learning capabilities for students, including structured Study Notebooks for uploading heavy course packs, interactive 3D visualizations, and Deep Research tools integrated with Gemini Live.
Additionally, returning beneficiaries who took advantage of the initiative during the previous academic session can reverify their active academic status through SheerID to renew their access for another 12 months.
Eligible students can complete their verification and claim the offer via the student portal at gemini.google/students before the promotion window closes on December 31, 2026.
