The Transport Committee of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union has urged students to exercise extra caution when crossing the road following a fault in the traffic light directly outside the university’s main gate.
According to a statement released on Friday, August 28, 2026, the committee said the traffic light is currently non-functional and advised students to take extra care when crossing the road.
“The traffic light outside the campus gate is currently non-functional. Extra caution is non-negotiable.”
The committee encouraged students to look in both directions repeatedly before crossing and to obey instructions from Transport Committee officials and traffic marshals.
“Look right, look left, look right again, and strictly obey our Transport Committee officials and traffic marshals. Safety first and always,” it added.
