The interfaculty first round of Jaw War’26 kicked off on Wednesday, September 3, with the Faculties of Education, Pharmacy, Technology and others securing victories.

Speaking at the tournament, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Demola Lewis delivered the opening remarks, alongside Mr Victor Jonathan and Prince David Adeoye, who also served as judges for the competition.

Before the debates commenced, Victor Jonathan announced the core judging modalities, while the timekeeper, Victor Adedoyin, outlined the timekeeping rules for participating speakers.

The preliminary fixtures featured nine competitive rounds involving 18 faculties, with each faculty battling for a place in the next stage of the competition.

Following the conclusion of the fixtures, Ojo Esther of the Faculty of Education emerged as the Best Speaker of the round, while the Faculty of Clinical Sciences secured the Best Loser slot to advance further in the competition.
