The Academic Staff Union of Universities, University of Ibadan Branch (ASUU-UI), has opened the applications for indigent students of the University of Ibadan for its 2024/2025 Indigent Scholarship Award.
According to a notice signed by the ASUU-UI Secretary, Emmanuel Garuba, the scholarship is valued at N200,000 per beneficiary and is intended to support indigent students in Nigerian public universities.
“The Scholarship scheme was approved by the union’s Trustees and Principal Officers at a meeting held at the National Secretariat on Saturday, December 7, 2024” the notice reads
To qualify, applicants must be indigent, registered students of the ASUU-UI branch and have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0.
Applicants are required to submit their applications to the ASUU-UI Secretariat at Mellanby Hall, University of Ibadan, in line with the branch’s application procedure.
Each application must include a photocopy of the applicant’s current identity card, a letter from the current Head of Department stating the applicant’s CGPA for the preceding academic session, a copy of the current semester’s registration form and two recent passport photographs.
Interested Students are expected to submit their application on or before 12 noon on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the ASUU-UI Secretariat, Mellanby Hall.
