Katangite Wins Medals At FASU Games

A 500 level Law student and resident of the Great Independence Hall of Residence, Adetunji Sunday, on Wednesday, 25th of September, 2024 won two medals at the ongoing FASU game.

The 11th edition of the Federation of African University Sports (FASU) game taking place in Lagos featured over 1,500 athletes from forty-three (43) African countries.

Adetunji won a silver and bronze medal for scrabble and a gold medal for taekwondo at the competition.

Speaking with IndyPress, Adetunji Sunday appreciated the UI taekwondo and scrabble game Coach, Osita Egwim for the opportunity to participate in the competition.

“First I thank God for the grace to compete and I would also thank my taekwondo coach that gave me the opportunity to compete,” Adetunji said.

“My coach’s support in training and guidance during my fights helped me to get the gold medal,” he added.
