The competition was seen as an alternative to the survival cup, as well as a means to prepare the Tech teams for the tourney. The cup has eight teams, split equally into 2 groups. Season one of the masters’ cup saw Petroleum Engineering crowned champions having defeated Civil Engineering, five goals to three in the final. Season 2 of the tourney has kicked off with the 200-level students of the faculty of technology seeking to go for glory with their respective teams. The tournament draws go as follows:

GROUP A

MECH FC, WPE FC, EEE FC, IPE FC

GROUP B

CIVIL FC, FOOD TECH FC, SPE FC, AEE FC

The eight drawn teams all boast exceptional talents. Agric Engineering, Wood Products engineering, and Industrial Production engineering remain tournament favorites, while Food technology, with there below par performance last season, would go into the competition, hoping to secure a chance . Left to see if Hypelord can inspire some magic with his compatriots.

Looking at specific talents, WPE’s dynamic duo in Akinpade and MJ continue to make waves in the faculty of technology, having both debuted in the Inter-faculty as freshmen. Also, AEE will continue to build its team around Bello’s Ehis as they head into the tourney. Playmaker Heskeyman of Civil Engineering would seek to build on resting laurels as runners-up in the inaugural edition. IPE key men, VK and Kenneth will be looking at the tournament as a means to assess their preparations as they eye glory in the survival cup in the long run.
