UI Holds English Proficiency Tests for Prospective Postgraduate Students

The University of Ibadan has organized an English Proficiency Tests (EPT) for candidates seeking admission into its various postgraduate programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The Computer Based Tests were held on Thursday, 16, and Friday, 17 of May 2024, at the CBT centre of the University’s Distance Learning Centre.

Speaking at the venue, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, admonished the prospective postgraduate students to form the nucleus of researchers and administrators that will drive the continent of Africa forward.

Professor Adebowale described the University of Ibadan as a community of thinkers, as the institution continues to hold in high esteem the flagship of postgraduate education in Africa.

“The University of Ibadan had produced 6,500 M.Sc. and 722 Doctoral graduates, only at the 2023 convocation ceremony” the Vice Chancellor noted.

Prof. Adebowale noted that “the mission of the University of Ibadan is to transcend to a Postgraduate University with a ratio of 60:40”.

“A vision to be a leader in solving the present and future continental problems” the VC added.

Professor Adebowale implored the prospective candidates to focus on the journey they are about to start and finish well irrespective of challenges that may come their way.

The University Registrar, Mr. G. O Saliu; Deputy Provosts of the Postgraduate College, Deputy Registrars, among other officials were in attendance to monitor the two days examinations.
