UI Management Commends Ekiti State Governor’s Wife, Dr. Olayemi Jumoke

The Vice-Chancellor of University of Ibadan, Professor Adebowale Kayode on Thursday, 11th of July, 2024, commended the wife of the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Jumoke for being a good ambassador of the University.

Professor Adebowale gave the remark during a courtesy by Dr. Olayemi to his office.

The Vice-Chancellor commended Dr. Oyebanji for hiring adjunct lecturers to teach courses in her department, Educational Management, with the view to mitigating the effect of her absence from the University, while praying her tenure would be known for great exploits as the first lady of Ekiti State.

Dr. Olayemi Biodun-Oyebanji noted that the purpose of her visit was to appreciate the University management for the opportunity to serve the nation.

“I came here on a visit to appreciate the University management for granting me the opportunity to serve the nation as a governor wife,” Dr. Olayemi said.

“I also appreciate the management for considering me worthy to be elevated to the rank of a Reader by the University Appointments and Promotions Committee,” she added.

Expressing her passion for education and her desire to come back to the University after the tenure of her husband, she noted that since she became the first lady of Ekiti State, she had supervised five PhD graduates, while co-supervising others.

Dr. Olayemi Biodun-Oyebanji is a Reader in the Department of Educational Management, Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan.

She has served as an Assistant Warden of the Queen Idia Hall of Residence but currently on leave from the University of Ibadan.
