A 5-page report undersigned by the Vice-president, Aboderin Boluwatife, contained a narration of four subject matters; Tutorials and Mock Exams, UIs Got Talents, Tech Skills Training, and the UI’SU Week report.

Tutorials and Mock Exams

The Vice President, Aboderin Boluwatife noted that tutorials under her watch commenced on the 20th of July 2024.

Aboderin Boluwatife noted that only N18,000 out of the approved budget for the tutorial was taken to organize tutorials.

“Tutorials continued this semester (second semester) but it has been online to avoid tutorials not holding at all due to the other activities of the Union, like The Week,” the VP report reads.

Incurred expenses, however, were not stated in the report.

“I believe it would be included in the full expenditure analysis to be presented before the Audit committee,” a source within the 11th Assembly told IndyPress.

On UIs Got Talents

The Vice President report stated that a collaboration with UI Royalties (clarification, whether it is an organization or an idea not clearly spelt) in August 2024 only resulted in the organization of an audition.

The report promised that the UI Got Talents event will be held on Saturday, 22nd February 2024.

On Tech Skills Training

A collaboration with OpexA, an advanced EdTech platform designed to help individuals navigate and advance in the tech industry, was another subject in the Vice President report.

The report stated that the Union collaborated with opexA to hold an onboarding session with some students.

It noted that the collaboration is currently on hold as a result of the Union’s inability to handle publicity, payment of CBN as the venue of choice, among others.

A table of analysis stated that #59,900 was spent as incurred expenses for the onboarding session.

The Union Week, which lasted for eight days, started with a rally and carnival.

On subsequent days, other slated events like cooking competitions, health day, personality lecture, movie night, among other, held.

The report however indicated that proposed events like costume and outreach events did not hold. Explanations for the cancelled plans were not contained in the end-of-the-year report.

Also, a breakdown of the amounts expended during the Union week wasn’t contained in the report.

“The Speaker noted that the budgetary and expenditure issues were not the sitting’s business and it would be referred to the Audit committee for proper auditing,” a source in the SRC noted.

“It would be the Audit committee’s report to the House,” the source added.
