The Transport Committee of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union has issued new directives for intra-campus tricycle and cab operators.
The directives were contained in a public notice circulated by the committee on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
According to the notice, all tricycle and cab operators are required to accept bank transfers from passengers.
The committee also warned operators against charging additional fees or collecting charges for payments made via bank transfer. Passengers are to pay only the approved fare.
The directive further advised passengers who intend to pay by bank transfer to initiate the payment at the beginning of their trip.
“To prevent delays at drop-off points, all passengers paying via transfer must initiate payment at the beginning of the trip so the operator can confirm receipt before arrival,” the committee wrote.
The committee encouraged passengers to cooperate with transport operators to ensure smooth intra-campus commuting.
