The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan has inducted 142 campus journalists as the 38th set of inductees into the Union.

The induction and oath-taking ceremony, which took place at the Large Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Law, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, marked the formal admission of the newly inducted journalists into the Union.

The event was featured alongside the global campus journalism summit 3.0 as aimed at strengthening campus journalism and preparing students for responsible journalism practice within and beyond the University community.
Present at the event campus journalists and media professionals who spoke on the role of journalism in promoting accountability, informing the public, and holding institutions and those in positions of authority accountable.

Also present at the event were Michael Olatunbosun of Splash FM; Ibrahim Oredola, 29th President of UCJ’UI and Co-founder of SkillNG; Oluwatosin Ologun, Head of the Reportorial Desk at Agidigbo FM; Faith Alofe, Correspondent at Puuch Newspaper; Edem Udofia, Reporter at FIJ; AbdulKabeer Tijani, an AI and health misinformation researcher; and Olayide Soaga, a digital journalist at News Central.
