Eighteen students of the University of Ibadan have been admitted into the SIGMA Club UI Roll of Honour, IndyPress reports.

This was disclosed in a notice co-signed by the Sigma Club Chief, Adesokan Emmanuel and Sigma Club Scribe, Loyalist Adeyeye A. Anthony on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

This admission marked the second enlistment conducted by the Sigma Club for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Speaking with IndyPress, the Chairman of the Admission Interview Committee, Loyalist Odunaike Faruk Olukolade, described the interview as a crucial part of the recruitment process and an important event of the club.

According to him, the Sigma Supplementary Interview serves as a gateway for UIites who aspire to become Loyal Sigmites, stressing that it was important for the process to be thorough, free and fair.

“A total of 58 students were invited for the screening based on the established eligibility criteria, while 33 applicants were present for the exercise,” he said.

He added that applicants were attended to in the order of their arrival, with the screening commencing with an aptitude test, after which each candidate proceeded to an oral interview.

“During the interview, applicants were assessed and graded based on their responses, comportment, character, and qualities that align with the ideals of Sigma,” he said.

Olukolade added that the overall process was conducted with fairness and due diligence, while the final consideration of candidates was left to the magnanimity of the Sigma Chief.

He further expressed appreciation to the Sigma Chief for the opportunity and trust reposed in him to lead the Supplementary Admission Interview, as well as the committee members for their commitment and professionalism throughout the process.

He described the interview as thorough, fair and well conducted, noting that applicants were assessed based on their aptitude, character, comportment and alignment with the ideals of Sigma.

The admission of the 18 applicants, he said, was made possible by the magnanimity of the Sigma Chief.

“Stronger grows the Sigma Club,” Olukolade added
