UI’SU Rejects Increment In Transportation Price

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union on Friday, 27th of September, 2024, rejected increment in transportation prices on campus.

The rejection came after an exclusive meeting held at the SRC Chamber, with such groups like UI’SRC majority leaders, Faculty Presidents, Hall Chairs, among others.

In a memo co-signed by the Students’ Union House Secretary, Elemide Daniel and the General Secretary Ogundijo Dolapo Japheth, the Union noted that the representatives of the Union in the Intra-Campus Transport Committee should relay the stance of the Union to the committee, while the feedback from the meeting be ‘communicated appropriately’.

“After a lot of discussion, the following resolutions were reached; that the Union rejects any increment to the price of transportation on campus,” the memo reads.

The resolutions made yesterday are, to be noted, a contrast to a calculated comment, earlier credited to the Students’ Union President, Aweda Bolaji, who had posted on his Whatsapp handle that there would be a likely ‘upward review’.
