Independence Hall Legislative Council Elects New Clerk

Following the resignation of Hon. Ayodele Peter as a member (Clerk) of the current Independence Hall Legislative Council, the Assembly unanimously on Friday 9th of December has elected Egboche Ehikowoicho Iyanuoluwa, representing B2 constituency as the new Clerk.

At the plenary sitting held at the Independence Hall Executives Secretariat, Honourable Ayodele Peter’s letter, hinged on personal reasons was read to the Assembly.

A part of which reads as follows, “I, Hon Ayodele Ayokunle Peter, the floor representative of A4 constituency hereby write this letter to inform the house that I will be resigning as an honourable member of the house based on reasons best known to me”.

Conducting a bye-election at the plenary to fill the vacant position of the Clerk, Hon. Egboche Iyanu of B2 constituency was elected unopposed. Speaking with Indy Press, the new Clerk of the Assembly, Honourable Egboche assured residents of the Hall of his ability to represent effectively and discharge his responsibilities as the Clerk of the current Assembly.

“They should be expecting effectiveness. And be rest assured that every action in the house would be detailed” the new Clerk said.
