The second edition of the Adeyemi Michael Aduragbemi Essay Contest(AMAEC) took place on Saturday, the 30th of September at the Students Representative Council(SRC) chambers.
AMAEC is an initiative of Mr. Adeyemi Michael Aduragbemi, a graduate of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ibadan, and it was brought out of his desire to impact the society.
The ceremony which commenced at 11.06 had the attendance of its convener, Mr. Adeyemi Aduragbemi, The SU President, Samson Tobiloba Samuel( Host) as well as other organizers and the attendees
The first edition of the essay content which took place on 2nd of August 2022 ended up with a winner going up with a plot of land.
Twelve of 46 contestants that participated in the essay contest emerged as finalists and were given certificates of participation at the event.
Out of the 12 finalists, three went home with prizes. The winner of the essay contest, Abulude Damilare, who had an aggregate of 74.5% won a plot of land and a bag.
The first runner-up, Opeyemi Oyekan, who had an aggregate of 68.5% won a Bluetooth headset and a laptop, and the second runner Oluwatunmise Michael, who had an aggregate of 67.5% went up with a Tecno spark 7 phone.
Speaking with Indy press, Abulude Damilare appreciated the organizers of the essay contest and charged them to keep impacting the society.
“I am very excited, I am happy and elated, and I thank God for making me to win the essay competition and I would like to charge the organizers of the event to keep impacting the society,” Damilare told Indy press.
Meanwhile, Opeyemi Oyekan, the first runner-up extended a very big thank you to the organizers of the event.
“I feel happy, I feel exited and i want to say a very big thank to the convener of the event because this is an encouragement.”
The award ceremony, which commenced around 11:06am, ended at 1:40pm.
