Students of the University of Ibadan emerged winners at the second edition of the Youth Leadership national debate competition in Lagos. Yusuf Aisha and Habeeb Abdul, both 500 level students of the Faculty of Law secured the second spot after three months of qualification stages and wins over competitors and other universities.

The finale, which was held during the 34th edition of The Platform at The Covenant Place, Iganmu, featured a host of speakers, including the current Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani and reverred Kenyan activist, Professor Patrick Lumumba.

The debaters were awarded a cash prize of 1.5 million naira, among other benefits. Habeeb Abdul is also the current Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Indy Press.
