The Ibadan Varsity Christian Union (IVCU), University of Ibadan, has on Sunday, 24th of March 2024, commissioned and inducted one hundred and six (106) final year students into the fellowship alumni body.

The induction service, which held at the Chapel Auditorium, Chapel of the Resurrection, University of Ibadan, was a combination of a commission service and a thanksgiving session for all year 2024 finalists of the fellowship.

Addressing the theme “The Call of God and the High Calling”, with scriptural reading taken from Philippians chapter 3, the Guest Minister, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, charged the final year students to be good ambassadors of Christ wherever they may be after their graduation.

“It is possible for a thing God has planted in a person to die. God hasn’t created you without a mark, there’s something about your life God has given you to draw men to Him. The intention of God is for you to bear fruits or be fruitful, and your fruits must be distinct” Evangelist Mike Bamiloye said.

“All the packages (marriage, direction, prosperity, fulfillment, career goals) that you need in life is inside the original calling of God for your life, running away from it is destroying God’s agenda, gifts and purpose for your life. Soak yourself in God’s assignment. When your life is structured in God’s service in the fellowship, you would know what God wants you to do after you’ve graduated” Evangelist Mike Bamiloye added.

Speaking to Indypress, the immediate Past President of IVCU Fellowship, Brother Akinyode Abiodun Simeon has called on the graduating finalists to further embrace the sound doctrine of church, while never forgetting to look back.

My advice for the finalists, of which I’m part of, is that we should keep the legacy, we keep the vision. It is that we should keep contending for this faith that was delivered to us in IVCU. IVCU is a place where sound doctrine is being preached, the core and the center of our message in IVCU is Christ and him crucified. And so as we are going out, I want to advise and encourage us that this message should not depart from our mouth, wherever we find ourselves” the Immediate Past President said.

“We don’t preach money in IVCU, we don’t preach any other thing, the center of our message is Christ and Him crucified. And we can see our father (Evangelist Mike Bamiloye) is a testimony, they are not preaching money and yet they are not poor. God is blessing them, which means we focus on things that matter. And so as we are going out, the latest AF should focus on things that matter, Christ, and He crucified”.

Another thing is that God has used this house to bless us in many ways, so we should not forget IVCU. When God is blessing us, when he is expanding our coast, when he is promoting us, we should also remember to give back to this house IVCU” Brother Akinyode noted.

In attendance at the send forth service were IVCU AF Global President, Mr. Soji Adisa; IVCU AF Assistant General Secretary, Brother Emmanuel Jaji; IVCU AF Prayer Secretary, Brother Samson Olojede; IVCU AF Ex-officio, Dr. Kolawole, among many others.

The commissioning service featured a worship and praise session, drama ministration, among others, all handled by the final year students.
