As observed, the emergency Students’ Representative Council sitting, ongoing today, 12th April, 2024 at the SRC Chambers, University of Ibadan is witnessing a large turn out of students.
Students, as observed, are in attendance to observe the stance of the Students’ Union in regards to the plan for a possible fee increment.
The sitting which was scheduled to begin by 5:00pm started at 5:52 pm, after a brief denial of observers into the Chamber, before they were allowed in later.
Oluwadamilare Adewunmi, a student of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and one of the students observers noted that he was in attendance to express his displeasure to the looming and ravaging hike in fee.
“I’m here to express my grievances towards the stupendous hike in fees” Oluwadamilare noted.
Another student, Olasunkanmi Alabi, from Faculty of Technology in his words explained that he was in attendance to show solidarity to the concern of fee hike.
“Once bitten, twice shy. I’m here to contribute my quota against every forms of oppression fashioned against the students of this great institution” Olasunkanmi added.
