Alimi Yusirat, a University of Ibadan Mechanical Engineering alumnus, has emerged first-place winner in the CODET Project Results national competition.

Yusirat was selected to represent UI after developing an automatic syringe pump, which earned her a win at the zonal level and a spot in the national competition in Abuja.

A software engineer and former co-lead of Google Developer Student Clubs at UI, Yusirat graduated with first-class honors in Mechanical Engineering in 2023.

She was also the best female graduating student of her set in the 2022/2023 academic session.

In an interview with IndyPress, Yusirat expressed gratitude to the University of Ibadan for enabling her achievement.

“I’m very big on gratitude, so I feel grateful—grateful to God, my family, friends, supervisor, Sub Deans, and the University,” she said.

“This victory is a result of collective effort and support, and I’m thankful for everyone who believed in me.”
