“We Had the Best of Education in UI” – Prince Yemisi Shyllon

Prince Engineer Yemisi Adedoyin Shyllon, an alumnus of the University of Ibadan has acknowledged the impartation of excellence by the institution.

Prince Shyllon and another alumnus, Pastor Pitan were in UI as Chairman and Keynote Speaker respectively at the University of Ibadan recently held ‘Research Fair: UI-Town Connect 2024’, one of the lineup of events ahead of 2024 convocation ceremony.

Prince Shyllon graduated from the department of Mechanical Engineering. He is a global ambassador of African Art and Culture, a philanthropist of international repute and a Fellow of many societies and Institutes in Nigeria.

The UI graduate of Mechanical Engineering who once donated a sculpture erected at Oduduwa Road was of the opinion that brains are not lacking within the four corners of UI, hence, all the solutions to the problems of the nation can be solved.

Similarly, Pastor Olukayode, who obtained his B.Sc in Economics from the University explained that University of Ibadan was instrumental to his success.

The DVC Administration, Professor Peter Olapegba, speaking on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, stated that universities all over the world thrive on the goodwill of their alumni, and it was for this basis that the University of Ibadan established its Alumni Office to create a database of the University’s over 250,000 graduates, over its 76-year history.

Speaking about the objective of the visit, Professor Olapegba stated that the University of Ibadan had a number of outstanding researchers, and that, all that remained was for their research findings to be utilized.
