The Great Independence Hall is set to host an Alumni Personality Lecture to be delivered by Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State.
The lecture, titled “27 Years of Democracy in Nigeria: Any Lessons Learned in Leadership and Governance?”, is scheduled to hold at Trenchard Hall by 11AM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Speaking at the town hall meeting, Indy Hall warden, Dr. Odedokun said the deputy governor is also expected to visit the hall during his engagement.
“We got to know that he came into UI in 1975, in this hall 51 years ago, and he occupied B65. He has promised to come with some people. He may also enter some rooms,” the warden said while eemphasizing the importance of hygiene.
Student residents of the hall have been encouraged to attend the lecture.
