Glory Salawu, Vice President of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union (UI’SU), has presented a proposed budget of N36,722,570 for the 2026 Students’ Union Week.
Ms Salawu presented the N36 million proposed budget on the floor of the 13th Assembly of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) on Saturday.

According to her, the Union Week, themed “GRAND MOSAIC,” is scheduled to take place between September 12 and 20.
“The week is structured around academic, career and business, health, sporting, cultural, entertainment and community-focused activities, with a target audience of more than 45,000 students across the University community,” she stated.

The major activities proposed for the week are “Opening Ceremony and Inter-Faculty Quiz Competition; Rally & Carnival; Career & Business Innovation Day; Health Awareness Day; Sports Festivals; Ojude UI; Outdoor Cinema Night.”
Others include “Trade Fair, Community Outreach; Jimoh at Mosque; Grand Dinner and Thanksgiving Service.”
It is worth noting that the proposed budget was being reviewed by the Students’ Representative Council as of press time.
