The Great Independence Hall has lost to Ransome Kuti Hall in the quarter-final stage of JAW WAR 2026, held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at New Faculty Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Science, University of Ibadan.
With Chief Judge Remi Ayede announcing the official results, Ransome Kuti Hall emerged victorious in the first Hall Category fixture, defeating Independence Hall 82.0 per cent to 74.6 per cent.
In another Hall Category fixture, Awo Hall defeated Bello Hall, recording 79.75 per cent against Bello Hall’s 70.83 per cent.
Lord Tedder Hall also secured a place in the next round after defeating Alexander Brown Hall (ABH). Tedder scored 84.7 per cent, while ABH recorded 81 per cent.
In the Faculty Category, the Faculty of Technology narrowly edged the Faculty of Pharmacy, scoring 70.0 per cent against 69.6 per cent. Technology advanced by a margin of just 0.4 percentage points.
In the Agriculture versus Law fixture, the Faculty of Law recorded a convincing victory, scoring 81.5 per cent compared with Agriculture’s 69.75 per cent.
The final Faculty Category contest saw the Faculty of Education defeat the Faculty of Arts by a significant margin. Education scored 85.5 per cent, while Arts recorded 65.1 per cent.
The Faculty of Agriculture earned the Best Loser spot in the Faculty Category.
Oluwagunwa Michael of Lord Tedder Hall was named Best Speaker of the round, scoring an impressive 90 per cent.
