An altercation allegedly occurred between residents of Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall of Residence and Great Independence Hall of Residence at the University of Ibadan on Saturday’s afternoon, after the latter trooped out in celebration of Abiola Olaniyi, the president-elect.
Clip from the scene showed recognisable faces of some students wielding sticks and an attempt to shut the main entrance to Zik hall.
Personnel of the Campus Security Unit, also known as Abefele, later arrived at the scene to quell the altercation.
IndyPress gathered that the altercation resulted from an attempt by residents of Indy Hall to enter Zik Hall in jubilation.
At the time of this report, the Indy Hall residents had moved towards Obafemi Awolowo Hall in celebration.
