The management of the University of Ibadan on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 described the claim making rounds that some fake professors were identified in the University as a ‘baseless story’.

A copy of the special release obtained by IndyPress, signed by the University Registrar and Secretary to Council and Senate, Mr. G.O Saliu, has unreservedly stated that none of the circulating names is that of a staff in the University.

“The management categorically states that none of the listed Professors has ever been listed as staff of the University.”

“Bi-ennially, the University of Ibadan publishes its Calendar wherein all the names of bonafide academic staff are listed. These names are not on the Calendar.”

The University management has admonished members of the general public to take no heed to the newsy claim, while restating her integrity.

“Members of the public are enjoined to disregard such stories as the University of Ibadan would never jeopardise the integrity of its academic programmes by parading fake professors.”
