UI SRC Disciplinary Committees Issues Report On Sanjay Case

The UI Students’ Representative Council on 20th of Jan, 2024 had its first sitting of the semester. The sitting took place at the SRC Chamber, Kunle Adepeju Building.

Following the earlier report from the UCJ, UI concerning the allegation on the House Secretary, Oluwole Ayomide Joy (Aka Sanjay), directing the Union’s Funds to Personal account, which already the UIS’U SRC Disciplinary Committees reportedly promised to make necessary investigation on the issue.

According to the Resolution report of UISU SRC Disciplinary Committee which read that “Following the referral of the House Secretary, Mr. Oluwole Ayomide to the Disciplinary Committee on Thursday, 30 November, 2023, the following are the findings and resolutions were made:

Findings:

The House Secretary was found guilty of:

A breach of the constitution,

Negligence of due process.

 

After the findings, the UIS’U SRC Disciplinary committee fined the House Secretary Oluwole Ayomide (Aka Sanjay) a sum of 10, 000 naira, also to undergo community work, and to write an apology letter to the Union.

As said in the letter of Apology written by the House Secretary to the Union,

“I deeply regret the oversight and acknowledge the importance of upholding the principles outlined in our constitution. The lapse in due process was not intentional, and I understand the significance of ensuring fair and transparent procedures within our union.” Sanjay affirmed.
