Just In: UISU Gets New Bus From Oyo State Government

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union has on Thursday, March 7th 2024, received a brand new bus from the Oyo State Government.

The bus received was among twenty-seven others donated to Students’ Union bodies in the state, indigenous associations, as well as both the Zonal and Oyo State chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students.

The disbursement of the buses which took place at the Oyo State Government secretariat had in attendance the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, the Deputy Governor, Adebayo Adeleke, among other dignitaries.

The buses, according to Governor Seyi Makinde, have been facilitated “to assist Students Union Bodies in the running of their activities”.

Speaking to Indypress, the Students’ Union President, University of Ibadan Students’ Union, Samuel Samson Tobiloba confirmed the gesture of the State Government.

“We got our own share of the bus. There were twenty eight donated buses. We got a call yesterday that the disbursement of the bus was to hold today. The buses were given to Students’ Unions and to indigenous associations” the Union President said.
