The Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission 2024 (KRIEC) has on the 5th April, 2024 made an official release to announce the commencement for sales of nomination forms for the hall’s election.

According to the electoral committee release, signed by its Chairman, Samuel Ogunmefun, the sale of nomination forms will run for a week, which would last from Saturday 6th April, 2024 to Friday, 12th, April 2024, at 11:59pm, which is the ultimate deadline.

‘This serves as official notification that the sales of nomination forms for the 2024 Katanga Republic elections will commence tomorrow, Saturday 5th April, 2024 and end on Friday 12th, 2024 at 11:59 PM‘ the release stated.

Also, KRIEC has announced the eligibility criteria and the price tag of the nomination form to the elective positions available in the hall.

Listing the requirements, KRIEC noted that “a copy of their previous academic transcript with a C.G.P.A of not less than 2.0 (excluding 100 level only); a copy of current school fees receipt; a copy of Hall dues receipt; one passport photograph; a copy of student I.D card: and a copy of resignation letter from previous political position with the hall” were all required.

Stating the price tags, the electoral committee fixed the cost of nomination forms as thus; Administrator General (#6000); Secretary of State (#6000); other executive positions (#5000); Floor Representative (#3000).

Interested students are to get their forms from members of the committee on or before the deadline, as there will be no extension.
