Tuesday, November 12, 2024 – the University of Ibadan Students’ Union (UI’SU) has issued a public statement in lieu of the prolonged power outage affecting Alexander Brown Hall (ABH) and Ayodele Falase Postgraduate Hall.

The release, coming on the eighteenth day of a situation the students had described as ‘horrible’, noted that the Union is in solidarity with the affected students, attributing the blackout to the University College Hospital’s (UCH) disconnection from the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

“We consider it very unfortunate that this is a reoccurring situation in the foremost institution of learning and research in the country,” the statement read.

Recall that IndyPress earlier exclusively reported the state of the electricity crisis and students stance.

The Union called on all concerned authorities to address the lingering electricity crisis at the University of Ibadan College Hospital (UCH).
