ASUU UI Announces Scholarship for Indigent Students for 2024/2025 Academic Year, Sets Deadline

The University of Ibadan (UI) branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has officially opened applications for its 2024/2025 Indigent Students Scholarship Award.

The initiative aims to provide financial support to underprivileged students who demonstrate academic excellence and meet the set eligibility criteria.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants, according to ASUU UI Broadcast, must meet certain requirements.

Applicants must be from an indigent background, be registered students of the University of Ibadan, and have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0.

Interested students are required to submit a formal application letter, not exceeding two pages, which includes their full name, course and year of study, email address, phone number, and state of origin.

The application must also be accompanied by a photocopy of the student’s current ID card, a letter from the Head of Department (HOD) detailing the student’s current CGPA, a copy of the student’s registration form for the current session, and two recent passport-sized photographs.

Completed applications should be submitted in person to the ASUU UI Secretariat located at Mellanby Hall, University of Ibadan.

The deadline for submission is 12 noon on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
