The University of Ibadan Health Service has resumed operations following a student-led protest over welfare-related issues on campus.
This development was disclosed by the University of Ibadan Student Union President, Deboye Temidayo while addressing students at the Student Union Building Foyer after a meeting with the University Management on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Recall that the clinic was shut on Monday, May 4, 2026, by leaders of the SSANU and NASU UI chapters in compliance with the nationwide industrial action.

Indpress can observe that the facility has fully resumed its operations, as the reopening of the university health service stood as part of the demand submitted to the management after the emergency congress.

Speaking with IndyPress on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the Director of the University of Ibadan Health Service, Dr Ajav Aderonke said the strike is yet to be called off, but the complete lockdown of the health center has been lifted.
She added that health personnel are available to attend to students.
“The scope of activities permitted has been communicated to the Dean of Students. Personnel are on the ground to attend to those who come,” she said.
According to her, most activities are currently taking place at the WELLNESS & ECG Building of the clinic.
