According to the memo, students are advised to exercise caution and refrain from sending money or sensitive personal information to any individual or group whose identity has not been verified.
The notice also emphasized that fraudulent individuals may impersonate student leaders, university officials, or fellow students to deceive unsuspecting members of the university community.
Students are urged to remain cautious and verify the authenticity of such communications through official Students’ Union channels before making any payments or responding to financial requests.
“Before making any payment or responding to financial requests, please verify the authenticity of such communications through official Students’ Union channels. Your vigilance is key to protecting yourself and others from scams.”
