The Great Independence Hall Administrator General Obinelo Chisom Folorunsho Raphael has ascertained that active members of the great Independence hall of residence will obtain accommodations in the 2026/2027 academic session.
He made this assertion at a congress held for the endorsement of the three student union candidates from the great Independence hall on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
“Accommodation process as freshers was very easy, do you know how hard it is for staylite to get accommodation? Therefore this session, the warden has said that people who are very active in the hall will get accommodation in the hall, it is very simple,” he said.
Obinelo further urged residents to take part in the upcoming election by promoting the student union presidential candidate and other student union candidates from the great Independence hall.
He also assured katangites present that active members are guaranteed automatic accommodations.
“Next session, don’t think you know someone, don’t let me lie to you, 50 names can be submitted to the person and only 25 are accepted, what if your name is not among the 25?” He asked.
“But when you work for the hall and people see that you work for the hall, it is automatic accommodation. There are people who have gotten accommodation even before the accommodation process started, they already knew where to stay because they worked for the hall, therefore if you work for the hall, the hall will reward you, it is very simple” he said.
He further added that there are a lot of opportunities for residents who can put efforts towards the forthcoming election.
