Ayokunle Peter, an ex-resident of the Great Independence Hall of Residence who graduated last academic session, has urged current members of the hall to engage in pseudo-campaign in defiance of the regulations set by the Students’ Union Electoral Commission (SUEC) for the ongoing Students’ Union election at the University of Ibadan.
A verified screenshot obtained by IndyPress Election Situation Room revealed that Ayokunle Peter, also known as Scott P, confidently stated that no student could be held responsible, nor could any candidate be disqualified, for campaigning on election day.
“Do what you have to do. They cant hold anybody or disqualify anyone that his or her supporters are campaigning,” Ayokunle Peter said.
“Worst come to worst una go trend una opponent too,” he said in the official Katanga Republic WhatsApp group.

In a previous report highlighting his pattern of misconduct, IndyPress reported on November 14, 2025, that the then 500-level student of Civil Engineering and resident of the Great Independence Hall of Residence had slapped a fellow student resident, Bodunde Blessing, after the latter announced a goal from a Sofascore application before it appeared on the hall’s television screen.
The incident, according to student residents who spoke to IndyPress on Thursday, November 13, 2025, occurred at the hall’s Junior Common Room (JCR) while they were watching the streamed football match between Nigeria and Gabon.
“It was a little misunderstanding. We have settled it among ourselves. I have apologized to him,” Ayokunle, who did not deny the incident, told IndyPress when contacted.
The contrary advice by the ex-Uite comes amid reports of intimidation inducement and lawless campaigns that have marred the ongoing UI’SU election.
