Despite the announcement of the cessation of campaign activities at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, campaigning continued on Election Day, IndyPress reports.
A series of screenshots obtained by IndyPress on Saturday, October 31, 2026, showed campaign related activities circulating across various student groups.
Similarly, a new campaign tactic has emerged, with students observing the circulation of celebration flyers featuring presidential aspirants.
At Great Independence Hall of Residence, a three day celebration flyer featuring the hall’s presidential aspirant, Abiola Olaniyi, and the erstwhile Students’ Union President, Odedele Covenant, was observed circulating across various groups.

IndyPress can confirm that Members of the Indy Hall Executive Council were involved in sharing the flyer signed by the Public relations officer Sodiq Akinkunmi Hammed across several groups during the period.

Similar tactics were adopted by aspirants from Bello and Kuti Halls, who circulated personality of the day or personality of the week graphics.

Some individuals responsible for the graphics have been identified as political actors from Kuti and Bello Halls.
A birthday celebration tactic was also adopted by some supporters.

A video obtained by UIMSA Press showed the Iyalode of Taofeekat Hub allegedly urging students to vote for Awofeso Dynamic for president.
These reports come amid allegations from various halls of residence that students are being compelled by hall executives to vote for certain candidates.
