Team Zeal, a team of three 400-level students at the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan, came second at the 9th Edition of the Unilever IdeaTrophy which was held on 4th March, 2021. Team Zeal — Oritsegbugbemi Anoemuah, Favour Amubode, and Lord’sfavour OlaJesu — beat four other semifinalists to the 2nd place, just behind University of Lagos’ Team Itesiwaju, and University of Nigeria Nsukka’s Team Shirp.
According to Lord’sfavour OlaJesu, Team Zeal’s winning idea was Sun Wipes, an innovative product that hopes to ensure consumers’ safety in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and also guarantees sustainability in the environment. She also disclosed to us that members of Team Itesiwaju won laptops, internship placements at Unilever Nigeria, and an opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Unilver Africa IdeaTrophy, while members of Team Zeal and Team Shirp went home with phones.
Recall that the 9th edition of the Unilever IdeaTrophy received submissions between 12th January, 2021 and 29th January, 2021.
