Without the ratification of the University of Ibadan Student Representative Council, the University has constituted the student union electoral commission for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This was disclosed in a broadcasted message signed by the acclaimed Publicity Chairman of the commission, Ogundimi Tobiloba Timothy, on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
“The Student Union Electoral Commission, alongside dedicated University Management offficals, met today, September 10, 2026, at the Infinix UI Resource Centre to begin putting the necessary plans and structures in place for the upcoming elections.” Timothy said.
The constitution of the Electoral Commission took place during the 9th week of the academic session despite the Union Constitution mandating the Union electoral season to commence less than 30 days after the start of the second semester of every academic session.
