The Literary and Debating Society, University of Ibadan has rescheduled the timeline for this year’s Jaw War Inter-Faculty and Inter-Hall competition.
This development was announced in a statement on Friday signed by the society’s President, Neyen Williams.
The annual public speaking event, earlier scheduled to start in the last week of this month, will now commence on April 10.
“While we understand that members of the University community, especially public speakers, are already in high spirit, this slight postponement became inevitable due to the change in our academic calendar,” the President wrote.
She further explained that during the Grand Finale of this year’s competition, the 2nd edition of Jaw War Nationals will also take place.
“Just like in 2021, the current administration remains committed to organizing a Jaw War that not only lives up to expectations but also serves as a platform for the finest speakers across Nigerian Universities to debate topical issues.
“In the spirit of reawakening the lively atmosphere synonymous with the commencement of Jaw War, we have also decided that a Jaw War rally will hold on April 6.”
