On Saturday 2nd of September 2023, the University of Ibadan Student Representative Council (UI’SRC), at the plenary of the first ordinary meeting of the 10th Assembly of the house, coopted three new members to the floor of the house.

The three new members were nominated to the house by the executive council to effectively represent their interests at the floor of the house.

This was done according to Article 17, Section (ii) of the University of Ibadan’s Student Union constitution which states that, “not more than five persons, at least two of whom shall be foreign students, to be co-opted by the Executive Committee to represent interests, which may not be adequately represented in Council”.

Among those nominated were: Mr Akolawole Olamide, Ms Adeyeye Bukola, and Ms Bamitemi Peace. Mr Akolawole Olamide who was present at the floor of the house took the oath of office. The other two nominees sent in a notice of absence.
