WELFARE: UI’SU Electoral Commission to Spend N586,000 on Food, Water, and Transportation

A review of the approved budget for the UI’SU election reveals that the Students’ Union Electoral Commission will spend N586,000 on food, water, and transportation on different days.

The welfare summary budget of the Electoral Commission, as approved by the 11th Assembly, totals N586,400.

The summary breakdown is as follows – Screening Days, N99,000; Press Night, N73,500; Speech Night, N50,500; Election Days, N204,000; and, Others, N159,400.

Screening Days

There are usually two screening days.

The food cost for commissioners during the students’ executive council candidates screening is N33,000, covering a meal plan worth N1,500 for 22 individuals.

Meanwhile, food for commissioners during the students’ representative council candidates screening is N66,000.

Press Night

Food for 22 invited guests and press personnel at a unit cost of N1,500 per person, totals to N33,000.

Food for five security personnel is N1,500 per person, totaling N7,500.

With 22 electoral commissioners attending the press night, food is planned at N1,500 per person, totaling N33,000.

Speech Night

The sum of N50,500 is earmarked for welfare on Speech Night.

Food for 22 commissioners at N1,500 per person totals N33,000.

Refreshments for five individuals constituting “the high table” are N2,000, totaling N10,000. Food for five security personnel totals N7,500.

Election Day

Food for 29 commissioners during the students’ executive council election, including breakfast and lunch, is slated at the cost of N87,500. Another N87,500, to cover for breakfast and lunch, will be spent on the SRC election day.

Food for ten security personnel for the two election days is N30,000.

Others

Food for 29 commissioners during their meetings, at N1,000 per person, totals N87,000. Transportation for 12 persons at N500 each is N6,000. The sum of N66,400 is earmarked for water.
