UCJ Sets To Hold 7th Edition of Fisayo Soyombo Inter-Varsity Essay Competition

The Union of Campus Journalists (UCJ’UI) has officially announced its call for entries for the 7th Edition of the Fisayo Soyombo Inter-Varsity Essay Competition.

The competition open to students from across Universities in Nigeria requires participants to submit  essays that proffer practicable solutions to pressing national issues.

The theme for this year’s competition is; “Igbo vs Yoruba Post-2023 Election: Can Nigerians Ever Live as One?

Following the initial announcement, the Union through a press release signed by its President, Elizabeth Tosanwunmi announced an increment in the prizes to be awarded.

The prizes for the competition are #350,000 and internship opportunity for the first place winner; #250,000 for  the second place, and #200,000 for the third place.

The prerequisites for eligibility are that each contestant must be a student currently enrolled in a Nigerian University and that the contestant must submit their essay and a copy of their school ID in separate PDF files to ucjunibadan@gmail.com with the subject “FISAYO SOYOMBO ESSAY COMPETITION”.

The specifications for the essay are 1500-2000 words; Times New Roman; Font size 12; and 1.5 line spacing.

The deadline for the submission of entries is 31st of October, 2024.
