A video showing moments after the appointment of Professor Olapegba as the 14th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan has been shared by a digital creator, Mr. Oladayo Hassan Baruwa.
Mr. Baruwa posted the video on his Facebook page at about 11PM on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, following the announcement of the appointment earlier in the day.
The video shows the Vice-Chancellor-designate exchanging greetings with several University stakeholders present at the venue, including the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Chief Adebisi Akande; the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale; and the Registrar, Mr. Ganiyu, among other dignitaries.
Professor Olapegba is expected to assume office in November 2026, following the expiration of Professor Adebowale’s tenure.
