The University of Ibadan Students’ Union has extended their congratulations message to the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University, expressing confidence in the new administration to sustain the institution’s legacy.
This was disclosed in a congratulatory statement jointly signed by the Students’ Union President, Temidayo Adeboye and the General Secretary, Joshua Shontan on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
“Your appointment comes with great expectations, and we are confident that your wealth of experience, commitment to academic excellence, and visionary leadership will further strengthen the legacy of this prestigious institution,” the statement reads.
Recall on Wednesday, Professor Peter Olapegba was appointed as the 14th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan following the selection process by the University Joint Council-Senate Selection Board.
